
PRESS STATEMENT: AFRICAN CENTRE WELCOMES NIGERIA’S PROGRESS ON FATF ACTION PLAN
The African Centre for Governance, Asset Recovery and Sustainable Development commends the recent announcement by the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) on the significant progress made by Nigeria in addressing the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Action Plan under the International Co-operation Review Group (ICRG) process.
We applaud the collective efforts of all stakeholders; key government ministries, regulatory bodies, private sector actors and Civil Society Organizations in driving critical reforms to strengthen Nigeria’s Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) framework.
We are committed to promoting accountability, fighting corruption, and supporting asset recovery across Africa, we align fully with this direction and reaffirm our commitment to support Nigeria’s continued compliance with international standards. We believe this progress not only bolsters national resilience but also helps rebuild public trust and enhances sustainable development.
