CoSP 10: HAPPENING IN ATLANTA

The 10th session Conference of State Parties is currently in progress in Atlanta, and the plenary continues while side events are ongoing.

During Plenary Item 2 which is the Review of the Implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) being held today, 13th December, Secretary Uzra Zeya, the Secretary of the Conference of State Parties reported the progress made in the implementation of Chapter V (asset recovery) of the UNCAC in the State parties as shown in the graph below.

This item is provided for by paragraph 5 of article 63 of the UNCAC, which states that the Conference will obtain the information required regarding the steps that States parties have taken to implement the Convention, as well as the challenges they have faced in doing so, through information supplied by them and through any additional review mechanisms that the Conference may decide to establish.
