The 10th session Conference of State Parties is still ongoing in Atlanta, and the plenary continues while side events are continuing.
During the Plenary Item 5 which is Asset Recovery held today, 14th December, the progress made in the implementation of Chapter V (asset recovery) of the UNCAC, the total value of reported asset returns from 2010-2023, list of countries involved in asset recovery was presented as shown in the images below. Stolen Asset Recovery (StAR) Initiative also gave an update of their work from inception till date.
The Conference resolved in Resolution 1/4 to form an interim open-ended intergovernmental working group to offer guidance and help it in carrying out its mandate on the return of proceeds of corruption.
