The Executive Director of the African Center for Governance, Asset Recovery, and Sustainable Development, Madam Juliet Ibekaku-Nwagwu, paid a courtesy visit to the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mr. Afam Josiah Osigwe.

During the meeting, they discussed critical issues related to money laundering and financing of terrorism risks that may impact the legal sector in Nigeria.

They committed to work together to address these risks, marking a key step towards drafting a Legal Sector Risk Assessment Report. This effort will significantly enhance the Nigeria Bar Association’s (NBA) capacity as a Self-Regulatory Authority (SRA) in combating financial crimes and safeguarding the integrity of Nigeria’s financial system.

The African Center looks forward to collaborating with the NBA and other relevant organisations in executing this task.
