The African Center for Governance, Asset Recovery and Sustainable Development (otherwise known as “the African Center”) is an independent, civil society organization which works with national governments, international and regional organizations, as well as non-governmental organizations to promote good governance, sustainable development, and the rule of law.

ROLE: Program Assistant– Research and Administration

LOCATION: WUSE 2, Abuja (FCT)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with planning and conducting research projects.

Assist in drafting blogs and preparing social media communication and information.

Assist with collecting data using various methods such as surveys, experiments, interviews, or observations as well as analyze collated data.

Develop detailed reports summarizing their findings, methodologies, and conclusions.

Develop concept notes and grant proposals to secure funding for research projects.

Management of social media handles.

Assist the Project Team with the logistical preparations for meetings, workshops and other events, including close liaison with team members and external contacts to coordinate bookings for venues, accommodation, per diem payments and reimbursement of expenses were necessary.

Assist the Project team in building, managing and updating component folders and database of key contacts and stakeholders

Assist the Project Team in ensuring that all project documentation and reports for assigned activities are drafted and produced on time.

Develop presentations for events.

Keep track of project calendar, activities and milestones.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Law from a reputable university and must be called to the Nigerian Bar (LL.B and B.L)

Minimum of 2 years’ post-call experience.

Experience in an NGO or CSO space.

Demonstrate excellent research abilities with attention to detail.

Strong written and oral communication skills

Proficient in using legal research tools

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Ability to learn, and work in a deadline-driven work environment.
