Interview with Juliet Ibekakwu Nwagwu by GSDEC.

The Executive Director of the African Center for Governance, Asset Recovery, Juliet Ibekaku-Nwagwu, a PhD candidate at the University of Sussex, is interviewed for the Global South Dialogue on Economic Crime. The conversation was conducted at the Global South Dialogue on Economic Crime Symposium on Financial Crime, which took place on January 17–19, 2024. Juliet is an expert in financial intelligence and corruption in Nigeria and the West African region. Her previous position was that of Director of the Financial Intelligence Unit in Nigeria.

Juliet explores Nigeria’s fight against financial crime, asset recovery, and asset management, sharing her experiences and observations along the way. In addition, she discusses one of her case studies that won awards, emphasizing the value of data-driven strategies in the fight against the funding of terrorism.
