JOIN US AT THE IACC
The African Center will participate in the 21st iteration of Transparency International’s International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC) scheduled for 18–21 June 2024 in Vilnius, Lithuania.
The IACC is the most independent international conference dedicated to combating corruption, which is held every two years. Since 1983, the IACC has gathered together journalists, business executives, civil society organizations, and policymakers from more than 140 nations to discuss the global effect of corruption and how we can collectively combat it. At the 20th session of the conference, co-hosted by the US government in Washington, DC, more than 2,000 leaders from many fields and backgrounds gathered to discuss important topics, such as stemming the flow of illicit funds and preserving democracy and international security.
Huguette Labelle, chair of the International Anti-Corruption Council, noted, “We concluded the 2022 IACC by calling on world leaders to translate promises to fight corruption into concrete actions – because our shared future depends on it. The 2024 conference in Lithuania will be crucial for policymakers, civil society, and the private sector to take stock of their efforts and define new strategies to tackle emerging global threats and challenges.”
